We Finna Get Thankful
Happy early thanksgiving queens! If any of you really and truly know me, you know that ya girl loooovvvessss to eat. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it's all about family, friends and food! I simply enjoy the whole time frame from Halloween to new years, though Thanksgiving is one of the best in my opinion.
So, of course, every year people are reminded to share the things they are thankful for and express why. I know my family likes to go around the table and share some things they are thankful for and I really enjoy it because the whole concept makes me so happy and appreciative. Last year, my dad started this tradition where he made us use a white tablecloth and wanted us to write the things we were thankful for. The goal is to bring it out year after year for long as we can. It's things like this that make me really content because if you know anything about my family, it's that we are a constant shit show. Even though they are typically chaotic, I wouldn't want my family situation to be any different because I truly love and appreciate them just how they are, especially around the holidays. I complain about them more than I should honestly. I think we tend for forget a lot of the blessings we receive in life. Whether your family is annoying, broken or you're missing a family member and things don't seem the same, be thankful for what you have. The holidays can be hard for people but it should be quite the opposite. This time should be all about showing and giving thanks. (you're probably thinking, no shit sierra but relax and work with me) Plus be thankful for all the food you're about to witness because I know, personally, the dinner table turns me on more than most boys.
I want to make this post short and sweet. Life is crazy sometimes but we still have to go through it. Even during all the madness there are still many things to be appreciate of. So I want to challenge you. Whether it's in your notes on your phone, a sticky note, a tweet, post, or a text, wake up every day and share something you're grateful for. My friend and I did this thing called "gratitude buddies" which meant we would wake up every morning and just text each other a few things we were grateful for. The whole concept was really refreshing and made me consider all the things life has given me. Yes, the holidays are time for thanks and appreciation but try to extend your gratitude year round. I can almost guarantee that it will add a positive aspect to your life.
Let me end it here queens. I hope everyone has a a great thanksgiving and safe travels. I also hope that everyone gets to eat plenty of their favorite foods, share some quality family/friend time and enjoy the break we have from work or school. I also want to share how thankful I am for my readers. I may not know every single one of you or who you are exactly but I am very thankful that we share every Tuesday together. Happy Thanksgiving queens!!!
